19XX Canon Typestar 220-II Serial # SE 2024231 19XX Canon Typestar 220-II typewriter, Serial # SE 2024231 Mark Petersen's 19XX Canon Typestar 220-II typewriter. 2014-09-06 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mark Petersen: 19XX Canon Typestar 220-II Serial # SE 2024231 This is an amazing little machine! I love it! I was $12 and sold "as is" with no return from the local YMCA so it was a bit of a risk but it all works. It prints with a little dot matrix device which slides across the paper once each line and prints whatever you have typed. It makes a strange squeaky noise each time, a little like fingernails on a chalkboard. It can do pretty much any symbols you would want, in four sizes and four typefaces, and can even draw little pictures (because of the manner by which it prints it is limited only buy its programming).
Made in Taiwan.
I know it is not a classic typewriter but it is a fun toy and I recommend getting one if you pass by oe at a reasonable price.
