Description:
#299
This typewriter has never been used, the packing material was still inside.
Dan did a wonderful write-up on this typewriter, so I've included a link to his notes. A friend found this one while antiquing with his girlfriend. After picking it up, I started doing my research... to make a long story short... I now own 3 of these, 2 of them are still sealed in their original boxes. (see photo at the end...)

"I was born in a crossfire hurricane"...
A professor in college gave me the gift and appreciation of the letter form.
Typewriters are just little "print shops" for me.
I have an MFA in 3D Digital Sculpture.
I no longer mold young minds, by teaching art to high school students, everyday is a safari now...
In my spare time I own and operate an equal opportunity rescue shelter for all makes and models of typewriters that have been abandoned in the bottoms of closets.
No matter how many typewriters I am fortunate to be able to collect, my collection will not be as nice as Herman's...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Facit 1740 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Facit Serial Number page and the Facit 1740 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
