A recent purchase here in Kyoto, this beautiful typewriter made generally of plastic with metal chassis has a bit of an issue. Its ribbon doesn't seem to move and gets taut when you type. Nevertheless, I love the red and yellow color combination.

I'm an archaeologist who writes heritage books and collects Japanese ceramics as well as quite a number of typewriters that I've acquired through purchase or as gifts over the last 10 years in the Philippines as well as in the US and Japan.
