Description:
The elusive Olivetti Editor 2. Very pretty, even in this color. This is the carbon ribbon version, with the 13-inch platen. Found at an antique store for $35 including $50 worth of new ribbons. Works well. The keys are very high off the desk, though.
Features include carbon ribbon only, typebar clash prevention, reverse tabbing (in addition to regular tabbing), electric magic-margin-type function (keyboard margin set), half spacing, 1, 1-1/2, 2, and 3 line spacing (but no 2-1/2 line space), detachable power cord that can run to the left or the right, and more. Nice.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
