Description:
This was the model used by the Australian poet Les Murray (1938-2019), see link below. The number 2 in "762TR" may refer to the 12 inch platen? Similar models such as the 760TR seem to have shorter carriages and platens.
TR may refer to the presence of a Tabulator as well as a Repeat spacer?
Purchased in New Zealand in 2026 from Roger, a friendly octogenarian gentleman in the process of downsizing. Hardly used over the decades and in great condition... except for:
(1) bent elements in the ribbon vibrator area, causing the latter to get stuck in the up or down position while typing. Fix to come soon.
(2) One typeslug hovering above the others, refusing to sit in its place. Fixed by re-forming a bent wire connection.

On a shoestring budget in a typewriter desert. I'm a writer and I swear that I really do need these tools of the trade, all seven of them and counting... (Obviously still a beginner.) Two hot takes: Script fonts, yuck. And the 1970s is an underrated decade for typewriters.
