Description:
Typeface sample and SN have been added.
One of two scores at a recent flea market. It clearly hasn't been cared for in a long time so I've gotten it as a side project mainly. The main issue is that most of the main typebar block has rusted or collected some sort of grime, I'd assume a drink might've been spilled in the typewriter's lifetime. Though it seems to be pretty cleanable. It's in the standard QWERTZ layout.
UPDATE: The sticky keys have been fixed, it types quite well now. the other problem is that the carriage spring weakened, so the carriage can't advance up to line 60-or-so from its own energy. (still perfectly fine if you only type A5 or similar)

Originally involved in photography, repairing and collecting old cameras. Now looking to do similar for typewriters as well as mechanical calculating machines. Who knows what's next...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Traveller on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Traveller By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
