1974 Olympia SM9 Serial # 4759972 1974 Olympia SM9 typewriter, Serial # 4759972 David Richman's 1974 Olympia SM9 typewriter. 2026-04-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of David Richman: 1974 Olympia SM9 Serial # 4759972 I like the Olympia sm9, it types quite nicely. I see why many collectors and writers like it so much.
This particular example has a bent papper rest which looks kind of ugly in my opinion, but I have yet to fix it. I don't know how. But besides that, it cleaned up nicely and it works pretty well.

Theres a cool little badge on this machine. I guess that's where it's from.

This is by far the most interesting and accessible ink cover I have ever seen. It is so nice having an ink cover like this because you can get in there and do a lot more cleaning without disassembling the entire machine

Hi, I started collecting typewriters in my early teens . One day I stumbled across an antique store on my way home, I saw a typewriter outside the shop and I urged my Mother to pull over so I could check it out. I don't know where this intrigue can from but after that machine I became fascinated with them. I figured I should mention that, most people seem to get into this hobby for nostalgia, I just like mechanical things.
I started a Youtube channel called The Jersey Type
