Description:
The last Royal standard and the direct descendant of the model 10. One generation builds it up and what follows is a steady decline. Families, businesses and empires, they all fade away.
This one owner time capsule was parked under the cover and in a closet for nearly forty years. A quick service and a little shine box here and there and she types and looks like new.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 470 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 470 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
