Description:
This Princess 500 from the late West Germany production was in pristine condition, but with a very hardened platen. I cleaned it lightly and tried to adjust the capital letters' alignment because of the faint imprint at the top. Unfortunately, the Roma script fontface doesn't allow for many compromises, and the imprint is still not perfect despite the single colour ribbon. The machine came with the original user manual and the purchase receipt from 1971. As the serial numbers data is not very clear, I decided to date it with the purchase year.
Roma script typeface (RaRo 75), 11 cpi, German keyboard layout.
Acquired Nov. 2025.

Based in Italy. It all started with my father's Lettera 32 and my bad, bad handwriting on mail addresses.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Princess (Keller und Knappich) 500 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Princess (Keller und Knappich) Serial Number page and the Princess (Keller und Knappich) 500 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
