I bought this Hermes 3000 at an estate sale, after going 3 times, and buying it on the 50% off day. Even so, the machine wasn't exactly cheap, but it is in really good condition, with only a tiny crack in one of the plastic parts on the carriage.
On the other hand the case top had some rust on some of the handle hardware, which I intend to fix.
This is the "HP-2/66" of "boxy" version of the Hermes 3000. It has mostly metal parts, except for a few plastic parts on the carriage. The following year's model ("HP-2/71") introduced an all-plastic body.
Like many, I do prefer the look of the "curvy" 3000 with its green keys. But I still think that this model is quite beautiful as well - and it types really well!
The typeface is Pica ("S 6").

I started collecting my first pre-WW2 standard typewriters in 2017. Since then I have added a few machines to my collection, which now ranges from the 1890s to the 1980s. As of 2020, I have more big standard (desktop) typewriters than portables, and a few standard electrics.
