"Smooth" does not begin to describe the action of this typewriter. It's like gliding on ice.

Repairing this typewriter is easy. The carriage can be removed by unscrewing a handful of screws, allowing access to the mainspring and escapement. All in all, it is a well-built and enjoyable typewriter.
