A local auction-site had one for a very reasonable amount, with the description: 'the machine can be turned on, but the little hammers won’t fly to the paper.' We hoped it was due to the feature of the Praxis that freezes the keyboard when two typebars are jammed, to be undone by pressing the backspace key. Alas. There was more than one thing wrong with this machine. Though I managed, by cleaning as well as I could, to make the machine type somewhat, it was clear that a real repair was nessecary, which is beyond my expertise. We shall pass this on to someone more able than we. This Praxis was made in Ivrea and has a Dutch keyboard with elite typeface.

Since 2013 we are using a typewriter again. We said that a typewriter should type precise and snappy but it should also look good. It explains the presence of 4 Olivetti typewriters in our house.
