1968 Olivetti Lettera 31 Serial # 1662938 1968 Olivetti Lettera 31 typewriter, Serial # 1662938 Germano Peres's 1968 Olivetti Lettera 31 typewriter. 2023-05-23 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Germano Peres: 1968 Olivetti Lettera 31 Serial # 1662938 My girlfriend got this machine by a swap due to want a traditional Pica Olivetti. Very, very rare to find an Spanisch Olivetti in Brazilian Portuguese, she made a big deal.

In fact is the first "low cost" version of Lettera 32 also known as Dora and evoluted with minor changes until the 90's. Don't have a tabulator, no platen clutch button (to liberate, put the interliner in 0) and not have the rear paper holder. But still the good quality of L32 in a very strong plastic shell, stills in excellent condition after 55 years.

The design is more coolest than L32 but don't let sobriety lines, love or hate. By the shades of brown, i see her as the little sister of Linea 88 but for times i desire to paint it in Azurro Blue, like the Italy World Cup edition.

Works as well and denotes not being used much despite her age, comes in good condition and the only detail was a scratch by the folding line lever, this was fixed with nail polish, one new ribbon and ready. Don't have a cover, i known it wasn't very good but enter comfortably in any backpack.

A tipically 80's Cold-War boy. Brazilian born in exile, with the time i was interested with my homeland, GDR and the Eastern Bloc technologies, but didn't have old enough to live this. I grown up with computers and never had more than marginal contact with typewriters in my childhood, my passion was growing along with mine Ostalgie and started my collection sometime ago when withdrew my father's older Erika from its long letargy.

Since 2023 i'm a Right student, in path to be a lawyer and that re-inforces my passion with typeriters. I prefer the 80's portable models.

I will try to get information about the world of Brazilian typewriters, mostly not known outside South America.
