Bought for just 1 Yen at an online auction here in Japan, I now understand why. I think something is stuck somewhere. It barely moves and you have to guide it with your hands! Lol. But I managed to get a typeface somehow.

I'm an archaeologist who writes heritage books and collects Japanese ceramics as well as quite a number of typewriters that I've acquired through purchase or as gifts over the last 10 years in the Philippines as well as in the US and Japan.
I'm currently a visiting professor at a university in Japan and it is heaven here to see so many typewriters being auctioned online!
