Description:
really nice find, came with dual ribbon feature and types nicely, only needed repairs on escapement and i need to get the platen done because it feels pretty hard, made 7 DEC 1966 according to the stamp on the platen core, the drawband needed to be repaired which took me a while but it seems to hold and now i can fully realise how nice these Imperials type because the feel is smooth and allows fast typing due to the short keypress with nice height between the rows so i can easily move my hand across without making errors as often, the Imperial 70 is a great machine so if you are on the fence about whether or not you should get one, i would highly recommend you do because they are pretty rare in the wild now.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Imperial 70 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Imperial Serial Number page and the Imperial 70 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
