Purchased at Red, White, and Blue Thrift in Manassas, Virginia on October 17. Marked down to $60. Beautiful on the outside, nice case, but very sticky keys. This is going to require multiple cleanings to get the keys moving. Based on the nice exterior and lack of musty smell, I'm guessing this was stored indoors, but some well-meaning owner broke the first rule of Typewriter Club - do not oil the segment! Hoping to get this cleaned up and working and when I do I will add the type sample.

I am a librarian, artist, writer, and co-author of the book Desegregation in Northern Virginia Libraries (The History Press, 2023). If I'm working on a book or article for publication, I'm on a computer. However, I use my typewriters to create poems, type-doodles, and to write snail mail letters. The tactile nature of typing on a manual machine works some kind of detox magic in this digital age. Each vintage typewriter has a soul and a story. Currently my collection is centered around midcentury models.
