Description:
Found in Maine with no case. Replaced the rubber bushings, cleaned up and it works perfect. That carriage is butter-smooth but the platen is stone hard. Other than carriage-shift, it types with ease, a keeper.

Born and raised less than a quarter mile from The Noiseless factory in Middletown, CT. (It was Remington Rand by the time I came around). I was getting interested in mechanical typewriters when my wife brought home a blue 1965 Smith-Corona Sterling in perfect condition. Now I own 21 mechanical and 3 electric typewriters!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM4 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM4 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
