1959 Rheinmetall KsT Serial # 538026 1959 Rheinmetall KsT typewriter, Serial # 538026 Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters's 1959 Rheinmetall KsT typewriter. 2019-07-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters: 1959 Rheinmetall KsT Serial # 538026 Finding a reasonably priced KsT that would ship from Germany proved to be something of a challenge, but this example was finally secured.

This one is from 1959, the last year for the Rheinmetall name and the last 50s era portable that looked good in gloss black. The modern body shells tend to hide the skeleton shift, though the removable carriage & escapement assembly is a boon for servicing and cleaning. The removable typebars are also handy, except when they somehow get lost.
None the less, these are snappy machines that will make you think of many other typewriters, rather than feeling like a unique thing itself.

Together they have established Venneburg Typewriters, a partnership that to date has seen over 400 typewriters since 2009. Here you will find the machines that are currently still in possession or that have come and gone since December 2017.

***As of July 2020, this collection now also represents pieces from the collection of Troy Krahn!
