1959 Facit P Serial # P.139613 1959 Facit P typewriter, Serial # P.139613 Gerrit Wynkoop's 1959 Facit P typewriter. 2026-05-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Gerrit Wynkoop: 1959 Facit P Serial # P.139613 I spotted this 1959 Facit P on Etsy back in 2018/2019 from a seller located in Kansas City, Missouri. I almost bought it, but decided not to because a) I had recently purchased a Halda P in better condition and b) this typewriter had a cracked spacebar. This lovely machine eventually sold and I regret not picking it up, as I've since learned how to fix broken things. As far as I can tell, this Facit P is essentially the same machine as my 1956 Halda P, with the exception of color variances and, of course, the name badge. Pretty sure these Facit Ps were made simply to sweep existing Halda P parts out the door. Including it here as a sighting because Facit Ps are pretty rare and at least we can all see what one looks like. On a side note, this Facit P has a legacy dealer decal on its backside from George Stuart, Orlando, Florida. I've included a link detailing that company's history below.

Born in the Midwest, but I grew up in Europe and Australia. I hold a BA in English from the University of Iowa and love to read and write. I'm drawn to Russian literature in particular, especially Chekhov and Tolstoy, but I also read widely. My personal library contains somewhere between two and three thousand books. I've been collecting typewriters since the fall of 2016 and enjoy writing with, cleaning, and repairing them. Imho, the typewriter is one of the great inventions of humankind, but I suspect you knew that already.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Facit P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Facit Serial Number page and the Facit P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
