In lowercase, the carriage scraped and stalled on the casing. The cushioning rubber washers between the frame and casing had degraded over time, causing this common Olympia SM problem. I inserted new washers and the Olympia is now typing very well.

This SM3 could only type in all capital letters. In lowercase, the carriage scraped and stalled on the casing. The cushioning rubber washers between the frame and casing had degraded over time, causing this common Olympia SM problem. I inserted new washers and the Olympia is now typing very well.
