1957 Olympia SF Serial # 5-7559 1957 Olympia SF typewriter, Serial # 5-7559 Feli Lessel's 1957 Olympia SF typewriter. 2026-10-15 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Feli Lessel: 1957 Olympia SF Serial # 5-7559 A semi early SF, serial number suggesting it was made in 1957 but still showing some earlier model traits such as the advance knobs and paper support shape.
This model showed noticeable signs of ageing, such as dissolved interior noise reduction foam and corroded line space lever. In addition, the wire connector for the F slug has broken apart which will need to be fixed some day, Some other keys require more force to not appear faded.
The typeface specimen has been made with the re-inked original ribbon, a new one is on it's way. I might redo the specimen then.

Originally involved in photography, repairing and collecting old cameras. Now looking to do similar for typewriters as well as mechanical calculating machines. Who knows what's next...
