Description:
I have been searching for an Olympia ultra-portable because I wanted something I could take with me more easily and I love the Olympias I already have. I found this one on eBay from a seller who also collects and knows how to ship typewriters. It's in good condition and is surprisingly easy to type on even though it is tiny. The platen is a little hard but still works to grab the paper. The foam has been removed from the body. I haven't decided whether or not to replace it. It seems quiet enough without it. I like the burgundy keys and platen knobs.
The only downside is that the bakelite case has cracks. I knew that before purchasing. The seller had tried to use Gorilla glue to seal them but they area already breaking back open. I hope to repair it more permanently, but am searching for a suitable case in the meantime.
This typewriter continues my love for Olympia models.

I recently started collecting typewriters after rediscovering my love for them at an event. I am fortunate to live in an area with a small group of people who appreciate typewriters. We meet bimonthly and share recent finds and host type-ins to let others in our area discover the joy of typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SF on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SF By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
