Description:
"Crimson Rose"
I got this burgundy/maroon SM3 of a diamond in the rough from Kirk Jackson (Nashville Typewriter) in August 2021. It is sporting a brand new platen from J.J. Short and Associates in New York. Kirk tore down, deep cleaned every single element, and rebuilt this beauty to perfection. I absolutely adore and LOVE this to pieces! This is tied with my 1962 Torpedo 18b (Storm) as my all-time fave machine.

Just a "Typewriter Nut". I like collecting technologies from the past such as typewriters especially the ones with special/rare typefaces. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
