Description:
Purchased from Facebook Marketplace for $40. It belonged to a woman whose father was the clerk of court for a local district court in Massachusetts and he bought it new and used it for decades before retiring. The S in the serial number indicates it is a special typeface, in this case it is Pica Double Gothic, which I did not know when I purchased it. It was very dusty but mostly working and after a couple hours of cleaning, I threaded a new ribbon and almost everything works. The only issue I am having is with setting the right margin, which I will have to work on.

New to the typewriter world, but eager to learn. I found a 1945 Smith Corona Clipper in decent shape at a flea market, cleaned it up, and have been hooked ever since!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal HH on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal HH By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
