1953 IBM Model A Executive Serial # 039105 1953 IBM Model A Executive typewriter, Serial # 039105 James Grooms's 1953 IBM Model A Executive typewriter. 2026-09-25 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of James Grooms: 1953 IBM Model A Executive Serial # 039105 Super clean and unmolested. The power roller is excellent. This came out of the Louisville IBM offices, so I doubt that 1960 service date is accurate. Sometime after that the power roller and platen were replaced. There were only two issues. The bell bracket was loose, and the RS margin has an issue. The bell was easy. I still haven't figured out the RS margin slider. There is no catch for the stop or the line lock. The Model B has different parts, so I am not sure if a part is missing. The slider does not appear to be broken. Otherwise, everything is working great.
