Description:
Got it fairly cheap but it did have a lot wrong with it and the platen knob fell off when i sent it to be repaired. Platen was also very hard so i had that replaced as well. its a nice machine to type on now as everything works on it. According to the shop decal it was sold just down the road from the West Bromwich factory in Birmingham.

I picked up a couple of typewriters for display and use for the public at events where a police station is set up. The few i have are all Imperial Good Companions. Learnt to type on a manual typewriter, then on an electric one while in comprehensive but have completly forgotten how to touch type. Although pecking at the keys is more in keeping with a station.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Empire Aristocrat on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Empire Serial Number page and the Empire Aristocrat By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
