Description:
The elusive 4AR. Nobody knows for certain what was up with this 4-series machine with 5-series keys. This is a five digit SN, so if true to SC pattern, this is the 773 made. I will place it at 1949 and it should index between 4A and 5A so people can find it.
If you have one of these, add it the the DB!

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
