1948 Invicta Portable Serial # IN15760 1948 Invicta Portable typewriter, Serial # IN15760 Massimo Martelancz's 1948 Invicta Portable typewriter. 2022-05-14 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Massimo Martelancz: 1948 Invicta Portable Serial # IN15760 Classic specimen of a black embossed Invicta typewriter of the immediate post-WW II period. The portable Invicta was produced between 1946 and 1949 after Olivetti acquired the Invicta trademark in 1939. The mechanics are the same as the Olivetti MP1, so this model is often called "Invicta MP1" today, but this is not a proper definition. The serial number follows exactly that of the Olivetti MP1, in some cases the first "1" is replaced by the abbreviation "IN" (so IN15760 = 115760 = production 1948) .

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
