Description:
First typewriter I got, not the first I've used. Found it on a thrift store (a curious one, it was the old local of my former job) for 20 bucks, the label says it worked and it was from post-war times (Spanish Civil War). Even if I didn't tried out, it looked sturdy and amazing just for 20€, so I grabbed it, they let me try and still worked with the ribbon it had, so it came home with me.
Tried to clean it throroughly, almost 80 years for a typewriter are insane on my head (even if it's not that old, I've seen some beauties on this website that are gorgeous and even older), so it's a little hard to type on it, specially when I'm used to the speed of a keyboard (I work on IT and been with keyboards the last 25 years), but it probably need a better cleaning with "mineral spirits", which is a term that I didn't hear before or it doesn't have a intuitive traduction in spanish (something like lacquer/paint thinner or similar) because the principal advice on my family was lubbing it and I'm seeing that's the pretty wrong option.
With the serial number, it looked that any of this typewriters with a serial number inferior to 2000000 was made on 1948 aprox. Quite an age for this precious!
