Description:
Purchased July 1, 2026 locally. The seller stated a wish to restore and repair the machine but did not have the time to. Was extremely dirty and some screws were missing from the rear bell cover. Replaced with parts of a similar model from 1946. Bell is fickle and likely requires some forming that I cannot accomplish with the tools I have. Magic Margin feature is a bit sticky and likely requires deeper cleaning. The new silk ribbon (with matching original metal spools)thankfully works beautifully and the tabulator button is a bit sticky as well. Will update as I continue to work on it. Overall a very fun machine to work on from the usual portables I've been working on.

I work in IT and enjoy slamming the keys that go clickity-clack from time to time.
I enjoy repairing, maintaining, and cleaning typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KMM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KMM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
