1947 Remington Deluxe Model 5 Serial # B1371791 1947 Remington Deluxe Model 5 typewriter, Serial # B1371791 Stephen Hanafin's 1947 Remington Deluxe Model 5 typewriter. 2024-02-08 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Stephen Hanafin: 1947 Remington Deluxe Model 5 Serial # B1371791 A local find from a store that mostly sells used furniture and housewares. This typewriter took just a little fixing up to make it fully functional, and is currently equipped with a calculator ribbon, which makes nice dark imprints. It has the original metal 1 5/8" spools, which are stamped "RIGHT TOP" and "LEFT TOP". This typewriter doesn't have a paper bail, but rather has paper fingers. It's the latest one I've ever seen to still not have a paper bail. This typewriter came with its case, but I'm guessing someone lost the key for it as it was busted open and does not latch any more. Paint is black crinkle paint.
