Description:
I was contacted by a fellow collector friend. He asked if I was interested.I have a Remington Rem-ette. The fellow collector was contacted by a gentleman who wanted to give the machine to her as a gift.Since this machine was of no interest to my fellow collector, he asked me if I wanted it. I agreed. My friend and fellow collector brought the machine to a collectors' meeting in Partschins on May 22nd. The machine works very well. The rubber typebar rest has crumbled. And the The front paper pressure rollers are flattened. (Oddly enough) (The rear paper pressure rollers are round). Despite these minor limitations, the machine works very well.Although this machine was built before 1945, I use it for typing. Normally, I only use machines built after 1945 for typing. But since this machine is not so interesting from a technical point of view, I decided that it should not be a collector's item but a working machine.
UPDATE: On On June 13, 2026, I replaced the typebar support, which on this machine consists of a rubber tube. The rubber tube is pulled over a curved metal axle. The typebar support It protects the typebars from damage and dampens noise while typing. I also replaced the four front paper pressure rollers. The old rubber on the paper pressure rollers was counterfeit, so they no longer rotated. I removed the old rubber and cut new pieces from a silicone tube, then pulled them onto the metal core of the paper pressure rollers. Now the paper is fed in straight again. The paper pressure rollers are rotating again and transporting the paper perfectly.

I come from southern Germany and have been collecting historical typewriters for 10 years. I'm interested in the antique machines built before 1945. All machines built after 1945 are not used for collecting but for writing
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Remington Rem-ette on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Remington Serial Number page and the Remington Rem-ette By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
