Description:
First came the Junior in the Signet body. These could be crinkle or glossy, so 1A and 1B. Next up is version two in this slopped body with the super-thin sheet metal. Version three is the square body with some beefier parts and a backspace. The economy was looking up by 38.
This one doesn't type very well and needs some more attention. However, despite being a bit worn out, someone invested in a platen and feed rollers.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Junior on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Junior By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
