The platen has probably been replaced at some point, while not new, it is still soft, and obviously much younger than the rest of the machine. Works smoothly and everything functions properly except the margin release (it will release the carriage, but will not unlock the keys). Since taking the photos I've swapped the plastic spools for metal ones.
