Description:
I received this typewriter for repair. It was brought in by the first owner's great-granddaughter. It is a family heirloom, and the owner's wish was to have it cleaned and restored to working order. The typewriter was in relatively good condition; it just needed cleaning, adjustments, and various minor repairs.

My name is Janez and I am from Slovenia. When I finished primary school and went to a vocational secondary school, my mother bought me my very first typewriter: a UNIS, model TBM deLuxe t, which I still have today. My mother worked in administration at a local factory, and when she retired in 1990, she was given the typewriter she had typed on for 12 years at work—an Olympia SG with a long carriage. I still keep this one as well, as a keepsake.
A short while ago, I cleaned and repaired both typewriters, bringing them back into working order. By profession, I am a toolmaker, which is very close to precision mechanics, so working with machinery comes naturally to me. That is why I decided to start restoring old typewriters.
I now have eight of them in my collection: UNIS, Continental Standard, Continental 340, Olivetti, Tops, Olympia SM, and SG. I am constantly learning and hope to find and save even more old typewriters.
Best regards from Slovenia, Janez
