Description:
I present the Orga A38 typewriter, whose history dates back to 1908. The handwritten date '4.II.08' marks the completion of the A38 design. While it is commonly believed that the Orga name was established after 1921 by Stephan Bing (son of Ignaz), the discovered evidence suggests that the Bing-Werke factory holds far more secrets than official history acknowledges. According to experts and historical records, the mass production of Orga Standard models did not begin until 1921; however, this particular specimen sheds new light on the brand's early chronology.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Orga Standard 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Orga Serial Number page and the Orga Standard 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
