199X Canon AP1000 Serial # W13417516 199X Canon AP1000 typewriter, Serial # W13417516 Pekka Sallinen's 199X Canon AP1000 typewriter. 2024-05-04 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Pekka Sallinen: 199X Canon AP1000 Serial # W13417516 Large size Canon daisy wheel typewriter. The serial sticker has some sort of model number, "V150", but no information available about that. The rear has a place for some kind of interface, but it is closed, maybe there is a model there with some kind of accessories port or printer connection or whatever.

The machine is pleasantly quiet and has a soft knocking sound when typing. Might also be due to the age of the mechanism and somewhat thick oils in it, but anyway.

Daisy wheel is Swedish (=Sverige) Courier 10, and the keyboard also Swedish/Finnish.

I was only able to find German version of the manual, but as my German is not too good I did not study it. As one can see from the keyboard this machine has many features. One feature I learned accidentally is that if you write something, then load a new paper with the green button on the top right, and then press "PRINT" on the top right, the machine makes a copy of the typed version. It mostly does the corrected version (if you deleted characters the first time, the second tíme it automatically types the correct character) but seems to get confused if you fiddle with the line too much with backspace etc.

I got this machine for free after it was on sale on an online marketplace for like 10 euro for weeks.
